Moama is twin town to Echuca, the two of which straddle the Murray River on the Victorian/NSW border. Moama, situated on the NSW side of the river, is a popular holiday destination due to the ease of getting there from either Melbourne or Sydney, not to mention the spectacular scenery and convenient location right on the banks of the Murray.
Discovery Parks – Moama West, situated just out of town close to the banks of the river, boasts stunning grounds filled with gorgeous natural bushland and plenty of space. Ideal for the caravan or the tent, visitors have plenty of sites to choose from including shady ensuite sites, and sites with concrete slabs for easy parking and setting up of the van.
Cabin accommodation is also plentiful, with all cabins being immaculately presented and spacious. The Standard Cabins, in 4, 6 and 7 berth configurations are perfect for a busy family. Each is equipped with a decent kitchen, comfortable beds (including bunks for the kids), and cosy patios to sit out on and enjoy the ambience of the park. For that bit of extra luxury and convenience, the Superior Spa Units are perfect. As well as offering a private spa-bath to help you unwind in the evening, you also have your own private BBQ out on the balcony, so you can prepare a meal and enjoy it all from the comfort of your own accommodation. The Superior Units also benefit from plenty of living and dining space and well-appointed kitchens.
All guests at Discovery Parks – Moama West are free to make use of all of the onsite facilities available. The kids will love the playground, a games room, and a TV room. While the kids are busy, you can get the boat ready to launch from the boat ramp in order to head out for a cruise along the river or a spot of fishing in a shady place.
Echuca-Moama is filled with history, gastronomic delights and plenty to see and do. You can take a historic paddle steamer down the river one day, then meander along the Echuca-Moama Food and Wine Trail the next. You can also while away the hours in the nearby Holden Motor Museum, or even wonder at the wall of beer at the Great Aussie Beer Shed.
Naturally, the Murray River itself offers all kinds of activities, from walks and birdwatching, through to water skiing, canoeing and kayaking. You’ll never get tired of the surroundings, filled with majestic river red gums, flocks of native birds and the smell of fresh, clean, river air.
