Park Info
Part of the fun of exploring Australia is discovering its lesser known locations. The Queensland border town of Goondiwindi sits on the stunning Macintyre River, and it’s here that you’ll find Goondiwindi Holiday Park.
Located four hours from Brisbane, this park with a large heated pool and spa is the perfect spot to put down roots and explore for a few days, with plenty of cabin accommodation and caravan options.
Goondiwindi Holiday Park caters for travellers looking for comfortable cabins and those who prefer to travel with their own home-on-wheels. Sleeping between two and seven people, cabin options include two-bedroom ensuite, premium ensuite, family ensuite, and standard ensuite cabins. There’s accommodation with disabled access and dog-friendly options available, too.
Cabins are self-contained with reverse cycle air-conditioning, kitchen or kitchenette with dining facilities, TV, sofas (some), linen supplied, balconies (some), and outdoor seating.
Caravan sites at Goondiwindi Holiday Park can be either ensuite, powered, or unpowered. All are spacious, grassy, tree-shaded, drive-through or reverse park, and can accommodate fifth-wheelers, buses, caravans, and motorhomes.
Your Goondiwindi accommodation is just minutes from attractions in and around the town. Be sure to check out the statue of the famous racehorse Gunsynd, known as the ‘Goondiwindi Grey’ and one of Australia’s most iconic horses. There’s also the 25 hectare Botanic Gardens including a beautiful 5 hectare lake and ample parking.
Stay and enjoy a meal at the architecturally-striking Victoria Hotel in town, and visit Customs House Museum – originally a four-room cottage and now heritage listed.
Sports are a big pastime here with a racecourse and golf course. Visitors come from far and wide to be part of the fishing action on the Macintyre River, with perhaps some of the best inland fishing in Australia. Here, anglers can look forward to some action from the wily Murray Cod and Golden Perch (Yellowbelly).
This is a region where you can discover national parks, museums and galleries. Enjoy relaxing walks and bird watching, take in a bike tour, and just absorb the breathtaking scenery around the park. If you enjoy taking photographs, there are some stunning birds to capture, along with the country landscapes and heritage buildings. If you’re here in late spring (November), be sure to train your camera on the Jacaranda trees lining the streets – they burst into a vision of purple.
Goondiwindi Holiday Park facilities include a recreation lounge, camp kitchen, BBQ and laundry. This cabin and caravan park is dog-friendly.
