Nestled next to Toolara Forest, with the delights of the Wide Bay–Burnett Region at your fingertips, Standown Park truly is “a peaceful place”.
The park offers a range of powered and unpowered sites amongst beautiful garden surroundings. Set up your tent on one of their grassed camp sites or drive your big rig onto a drive-through site, then sit back and relax. The park has fresh air in abundance, and every day you’ll spot birds, kangaroos, and a beautiful sunset glowing through the trees. Plus, the park is pet friendly!
Cool off with a dip in their swimming pool or take a turn around the picturesque dam with its returned servicemen memorial. Park facilities include a large and well-equipped camp kitchen, BBQs, a book and DVD library, coin-operated laundry machines, free wi-fi, accessible amenities, and a dump point. Make sure you gather around the firepit from 4pm onwards each day for happy hour, where the park’s spirit of mateship shines as you meet fellow travellers. The fire is lit at 5pm, so bring stories to share and marshmallows for toasting.
When it’s time to roam beyond the park, there are incredible natural sights and adventures to be found. Local hiking and biking trails bring you even closer to the region’s scenery, and the charming town of Gympie welcomes all with opportunities to play, delve into local history, and go on a scenic train ride. Hand-feed dolphins at Tin Can Bay or dip your toes into the coloured sands of Rainbow Beach (where you can also catch a ferry tour to K’gari, the world’s largest sand island).
For a rest like no other, book your stay at the peaceful, quiet, and sunny Standown Park.
