Park Info
Port Gregory is a scenic fishing village located an hour’s drive north of Geraldton on Western Australia’s world-famous Coral Coast.
Situated inside a naturally sheltered harbour between the Pink Lake and Indian Ocean, Port Gregory is well-known for its excellent fishing, snorkelling and diving opportunities.
Well known as a popular stop on any itinerary from Perth to Ningaloo Reef, the wide expanse of Pink Lake at Hutt Lagoon is a must-see tourist attraction.
The lake’s orange-red hue is caused by the naturally occurring algae ‘Dunaliella Salina,’ which depending on the weather, produces colours that can vary from light pink to deep purple and everything in between!
On the other side of the lake’s beach barrier ridge, crystal clear waters await at Port Gregory beach, where Whiting, Tailor, Mulloway, Snapper and Mackarel fish (to name a few) are commonly caught by boaties and jetty-bound fishermen alike.
A walk along the jetty at night is a popular activity here, as is taking your 4WD along the sand to Nobby’s Hole, where the coastal reef meets the mouth of the Hutt River. A famous spot to throw down the picnic rug, expect to see dolphins and the odd whale at play from this sandy vantage point.
Ideal for an overnight stop or an extended stay, Port Gregory Caravan Park offers a range of accommodation from 2 or 3-Bedroom Ensuite Cabins to Standard Cabins and more than 80 Powered Sites.
Proud of its commitment to being family-friendly, the park’s features include an excellent recreation room that has a pool table, air hockey, foosball and arcade games that little (and big) kids will love.
Two immaculate ablution blocks are available to all guests, as is a Camper’s Kitchen, a supply of rainwater, a laundry room and hot showers thank you very much!
There is a large communal BBQ area to enjoy, providing plenty of space to socialise with other campers, and a projector screen which is often in use for movie nights and those all-important sporting events.
The park is an easy walk to both the beach (300m) and the pink lake lookout (500m) and there is a general store in town that is open from 8am to 6pm daily. This has basic grocery items for sale but limited fresh fruit and veg.
The park provides an overflow area for boats, trailers or additional vehicles and an air compressor to pump up your tyres. Fuel and gas bottle refills are available on-site.
